THE DIGITAL SAT TEST

The College Board’s transition to a fully digital SAT exam represents a quantum leap from the traditional SAT pattern, shifting its focus toward measuring students’ skills and knowledge rather than test-taking speed. The Digital SAT is significantly shorter, lasting 2 hours and 24 minutes (64 minutes for Reading & Writing, a 10 minutes break, and then 70 minutes for Math). Test takers now have more time, on average, to answer each question. Thus, working on building strong concepts and understanding finer nuances is the key to unlocking a 1500+ SAT score. Start practicing with mySATMentor and change the way you approach the SAT exam.

Digital SAT English Structure

The Reading & Writing and Language sections from the previous paper-and-pencil SAT exam have now been combined into a single section, called Reading and Writing, in the Digital SAT. The questions now fall into four broad categories: Craft & Structure, Information & Ideas, Standard English Conventions, and Expression of Ideas. Furthermore, rather than a few long texts with a wider range of subjects, it now contains shorter passages with a single (discrete) question associated with each passage or passage pair.
